Vishu Kani

God krishna and Konna Poovu

Vishu is festival celebrated in Kerala by Hindus.The most important event is Vishu Kani which means the first thing seen on Vishu day after waking up.We decorate the puja room with nilavilakku,fruits,mirror konna poovu, new coins, gold chains,  new clothes and some vegetables.

We have fire crackers and people wear new clothes and get vishu kaineetam by the elder member of the family.Vishu is also feasting.There is sadya with all special dishes like avil, koottu, pradhan, upperi, pappds and mampazhapulisery
