Kadala Curry(Chana Masala)
This Kadala curry is made specially for Puttu in Kerala. This is a breakfast.
Ingredients
- Kabuli Chana..................1cup
- Red Chilies......................6
- Coriander Leaves.............3tsp
- Pepper Corns...................6
- Cardamom.......................3
- Pattai,...............................small piece..
- Curry leaves......................Few
- Grated Coconut................1cup
- Clove................................4
- Mustard Seeds.................1tsp
- Coriander Leaves..............few
- Salt to taste
- Method
- Soak the chana the previous day. Next day pressure cook the chana with salt.
- Remove the chana with water and keep. Fry the chili coriander seeds, pepper, pattai, curry leaves, cardamom and clove.
- Grind them with coconut into fine paste.Heat a pan add little oil ,add mustard seeds.
- When it splutters add the chana and the ground masala.
- Let it boil. for 2 minutes. Add coriander leaves.Serve this with chapathi or poori
