- Manathakali Vathal..................2tbsp
 - Tamarind Paste.......................1tsp
 - Hing.......................................1 pinch
 - Turmeric Powder....................1 pinch
 - Curry Leaves...........................few
 - Mustard Seeds........................1 tsp
 - Salt to Taste

 - Urad Dhal..................................2tsp
 - Chana Dhal................................2tsp
 - Jeera.......................................1/4 tsp
 - Pepper Corns...........................2tsp
 - Methi Seeds............................1/2 tsp
 
or grind them in a blender
Method
- Heat a pan with oil add mustard seeds,manathakali vathal, methi seeds, jeera,,curry leaves and hing.
 - Take tamarind extract add the paste, turmeric powder and salt, and boil it .
 - When it becomes thick remove and serve with rice and parippu thogayal.
 - This kozhambu can be kept for many days..
