- Big Kathrikai ...............1
 
- Onion...........................1
 
- Red Chili.......................5
 
- Urad Dhal....................3tsp
 
- Asafoetida...................1tsp
 
- Tamarind.....................1tsp
 
- Mustard Seeds.............1tsp
 
- Curry Leaves.................few
 
- Salt to taste 
 
Method
- 
Wash and cut the kathrikai into small pieces. 
 
- Chop the onion. Fry the chili, dhal and asafoetida ( I use the solid LG perungayam). 
 
- Add the onion and kathrikai and fry till they become soft. 
 
- Grind all together with salt into a paste. 
 
- Heat a tawa with oil ,mustard seeds and curry leaves.. 
 
- When it splutters add to the chutney.
 
-  It is very tasty and eat with plain rice and til oil.
 
- Also eat with chapathi/poori.
