Red Peppar Chutney

Red pepper Chutney

Ingredients

Red Pepper.                               2
Urad Dhal                                   2tbsp
Red chili.                                    5
Tamarind pas                            1/2tsp
Mustard seeds                           1tsp
Salt to taste

Method

Heat a pan with. Oil add  urad dhal and red chili.
When the urad dhal becomes red add the chopped red pepper and roast it till it becomes tender.
Grind all together into a paste.
Heat a pan with little oil add mustard seeds. When it splutters add to the chutney.

Garlic Chutney

Garlic chutney very easy to make.

Time 5 minutes
serve 4 people

Ingredients

Garlic peeled                   2         
Red Chilies                     10
Tamarind                        small lemon size
Small onion                  6
Mustard seeds               1 tsp
Salt to taste

Method

Heat a pan with oil.
Add garlic red chilies and onion.
When they become tender add tamarind,
Add salt and grind into smooth paste.
heat a pan add little oil and mustard seeds.
When it splutters add to the chutney.
Serve with plain rice/dosa /idlis

Kathrikai Thogayal (Eggplant Chutney)

  • Prepare Time....................10 min

Ingredients
  • Big Kathrikai ...............1
  • Onion...........................1
  • Red Chili.......................5
  • Urad Dhal....................3tsp
  • Asafoetida...................1tsp
  • Tamarind.....................1tsp
  • Mustard Seeds.............1tsp
  • Curry Leaves.................few
  • Salt to taste
Method


  • Wash and cut the kathrikai into small pieces. 
  • Chop the onion. Fry the chili, dhal and asafoetida ( I use the solid LG perungayam). 
  • Add the onion and kathrikai and fry till they become soft. 
  • Grind all together with salt into a paste. 
  • Heat a tawa with oil ,mustard seeds and curry leaves.. 
  • When it splutters add to the chutney.
  • It is very tasty and eat with plain rice and til oil.
  • Also eat with chapathi/poori.
